5 Day tour from Marrakech to Fez
Our 5-day journey from Marrakech to Fes begins with a pickup from your hotel. We depart for Telouet, a mountain village on the High Atlas plateau, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters. We will visit the historic Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui in Telouet before stopping for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we head toward Ait Ben Haddou, traveling through the scenic Ounila Valley with its traditional Berber villages. After exploring the world-famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, we continue to Ouarzazate for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, we leave Ouarzazate and head toward Skoura to visit the Kasbah of Amredil, a stunning fortress located within the palm groves along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Our journey continues through the Rose Valley, where we may visit a nomad family living in traditional caves. We will also explore the Dades Gorges to witness its unique rock formations before stopping in Boumalne Dades for lunch. In the afternoon, we continue to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges to enjoy spectacular views of the towering limestone canyons. Dinner and overnight stay at a Kasbah-style hotel.
This morning, you can enjoy a peaceful walk through the valley’s plantations and take in panoramic views of the Todra River. Afterward, we head to Tinjdad for lunch at a local restaurant. Our route takes us through several riverside Berber villages, such as Touroug and El Jorf, before arriving in Erfoud to visit a local fossil craft workshop. We then reach our final destination: the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Upon arrival, camels will be waiting to take us on a 90-minute trek to witness a breathtaking sunset from the top of the dunes. We continue to our desert camp to spend the night in a traditional nomad tent (jaima), enjoying dinner and Berber music in the heart of the Sahara.
We wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Great Dune before returning to the village by camel for breakfast. Today features a 4×4 desert excursion, where we will see volcanic rocks and fossils, and visit another nomad family living deep in the desert. We head to Khamlia, a village where local inhabitants will perform spiritual Gnawa music. We will also visit Lake Dayet Srij, which attracts pink flamingos during the spring. After lunch in Merzouga or Hassi Labied, we will take a walk through the lush oasis at the foot of the dunes. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
We depart for Rissani to visit the local market (souk). Our journey toward Fes continues through Errachidia and the palm-lined villages of Erfoud and Aoufous. We will stop for a panoramic view of the Aoufous oasis before crossing the Tizi n’Talghamt pass toward Midelt for lunch. Afterward, we drive through the ancient cedar forests near Azrou, where you may spot wild Barbary macaque monkeys. We will make a brief stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” before arriving in the medieval city of Fes in the late afternoon.

At Viajemos Marruecos, we recommend the 5-day option because it allows you to visit Telouet and the Ounila Valley, a less traveled and much more unspoiled area. In addition, dedicating a full day to activities in Merzouga allows you to really get to know the nomadic culture and Gnawa music without the rush of a direct trip.
This is one of the most authentic experiences of the trip. We visit families who still maintain their ancestral lifestyle in the mountains near the Valley of Roses. You will see how they adapt to their environment and enjoy their legendary hospitality while sharing a cup of tea. It is an unforgettable life lesson.
Yes, we can adapt the end of the journey to drop you off directly at Fez airport or at your riad in the medina. Just coordinate your arrival time with us to ensure you have time to enjoy the last stops in Ifrane and the cedar forest.

Solo teníamos un fin de semana y este tour fue perfecto. Dormir en el desierto es algo que hay que hacer una vez en la vida. El guía fue súper amable y el 4x4 muy cómodo.
