4 Day Tour from Fez to the Desert

Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Todra Gorges

A full day of travel departing from Fes toward the Todra Gorges. We will cross the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountains, passing through the Ziz Valley, where vast oases filled with palm trees reveal the iconic geography of Southern Morocco. Arrival at the Todra Gorges in the late afternoon.

Day 2: Todra Gorges – Merzouga

After breakfast, we head toward the Merzouga desert. We will visit the Todra palm grove and the Todra Gorges, continuing through Erfoud (the city of fossils) until we reach Merzouga. Spend the night in a traditional lodge located near the Erg Chebbi dunes.

Day 3: Merzouga – 4×4 Desert Tour – Camel Trek – Night in the Desert

After breakfast, we set out to explore the oases that surround the Erg Chebbi dunes. We visit the village of Khamlia and the abandoned desert town of M’fis, discovering small villages and inhabited houses in unexpected places far from civilization. We will also visit local nomads and share tea with them. In the late afternoon, you can take an optional excursion on dromedaries into the heart of the sea of dunes to witness an unforgettable sunset and spend a magical night in the heart of the desert in traditional nomad tents.

Day 4: Merzouga – Fes

After watching the sunrise over the dunes, we return to Merzouga by camel. Following breakfast and a shower at the hotel, we depart via the town of Rissani—ancient Sijilmassa—once a vital supply center for the old caravans coming from the Sahara. We continue our journey through the Middle Atlas, returning to Fes in the late afternoon.
