Cross the heart of Morocco on a route connecting the film studios of Ouarzazate with the ancient medina of Fez. Throughout this journey, you will witness the transition from the lush oases of the Draa to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will experience Berber culture in its purest form, sleep in the silence of the Sahara, and traverse the forests of the Atlas Mountains before arriving in legendary Fez. An adventure designed for those seeking geographical contrasts and cultural depth at every turn.
3 Day Tour from Ouarzazate to Fez Through the Desert
After breakfast, we depart for the Draa Valley, where we will see one of the longest rivers in Morocco. We will make several stops to admire the charming adobe Kasbahs and the natural wonders of the Draa Valley. After lunch, we arrive at the breathtaking dunes of Merzouga. We will enjoy a traditional tea of hospitality while we rest. Later, we will enjoy a walk through the dunes to witness the sunset. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Our first stop is the village of Khamlia to watch a live demonstration of Gnawa music. Then, we head to the abandoned village of M’fis and discover small hamlets located far from civilization. We will also visit a nomad family and share tea with them. At sunset, we will mount camels to trek through the dunes for an unforgettable sunset and spend a magical night in a desert camp.
After witnessing the sunrise over the dunes, we have breakfast and ride the camels back to the village. We then begin our journey toward Fes, stopping along the way to enjoy the mountain views of the High Atlas. We will pass through Midelt, a mountain town at an altitude of 1,488 meters, beautifully situated at the foot of Jbel Ayachi (3,737m). In the afternoon, we continue to the legendary city of Fes, marking the end of the trip.
