3 day Tour from Marrakech to Fez

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Tizi n’Tichka – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate Studios – Rose Valley – Dades Valley

We begin our 3-day route from Marrakech to Fes. We pick you up from your hotel or Riad in Marrakech and head toward the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987) via the Tizi n’Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains.

After the scenic drive, we stop to visit Ait Ben Haddou and the film studios, where many global superstars have filmed blockbusters such as *Gladiator* and *The Mummy*. We then continue to Ouarzazate for lunch.

In the afternoon, we head to the Skoura Oasis (a charming small village). From here, we continue to the “City of Roses” through the Rose Valley, and directly to the Dades Gorge for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel or Riad. This concludes our first day of the 3-day journey from Marrakech to Fes.

Day 2: Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert – Camel Trek – Sunset – Night in Camp

The second day of our 3-day desert adventure will be a fantastic journey toward our desert camp. We continue to Tinghir, a small Berber town whose name comes from the Berber language meaning “shoulder.” During the French protectorate, Tinghir served as an important military outpost.

After lunch at a local café, we continue to the city of Erfoud, known as the capital of marble fossils, where we visit a fossil workshop. Afterward, we cross the rocky terrain to reach the Merzouga desert, where your camel will be waiting. Enjoy a camel trek over the sand dunes to witness the sunset and capture beautiful photos. Your camel guide will be there to assist you. After an incredible sunset, we head to the desert camp. Enjoy dinner under a star-filled sky, listen to traditional nomad music, and dance around the campfire.

Day 3: Desert Camp – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes

After breakfast at the desert camp, your camel guide will lead you back, and your driver will be waiting to begin the drive from the desert to Fes. We cross the Ziz Valley near Errachidia, the capital of the Tafilalt region, stopping for an incredible panoramic view of the valley’s palm groves.

Our journey continues to Midelt, a city famous for its apples and its role as a commercial center for the surrounding agricultural landscape. It is also one of Morocco’s primary mining hubs for various minerals.

We will stop for lunch before driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through the cedar forest and Berber towns like Imouzzer. We will stop in the forest to see the wild monkeys living in their natural habitat. Next, we visit Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” The name is derived from the local Amazigh (Tamazight) language meaning “caves.” In 2013, Ifrane was ranked the second cleanest city in the world. You will see the famous stone lion in the city center, a tribute to the lions that once inhabited the region. The modern town of Ifrane was established by the French administration in 1929. After exploring Ifrane, we continue to Fes through several small Berber towns, arriving in the evening at your hotel or Riad. This marks the end of our 3-day journey from Marrakech to Fes.
