2 Day Tour from Marrakech to Fez

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Rose Valley – Dades Gorges – Todra – Merzouga – Desert Camp

We depart from Marrakech toward the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters, surrounded by stunning views of the peaks and Berber villages scattered along the way. We will stop for lunch at the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and take the opportunity to visit this historic location where more than 20 famous films have been shot.

Leaving Ouarzazate behind, we pass through the Rose and Dades Valleys, the Skoura Oasis—where you can admire its 17th-century Kasbah—and the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs” until we reach the Dades Gorges. From there, we head to the Todra Gorges, colossal faults rising 300 meters above a narrow valley filled with palm groves and Berber hamlets. After lunch in the Gorges, we head deep into the desert toward Merzouga, stopping at the Erg Chebbi dunes for a pleasant camel trek to our desert camp. Dinner and overnight stay in traditional tents (Haimas).

Day 2: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Fes

We will rise early to admire the beautiful sunrise over the desert and take photos from a high dune—one of the most unforgettable moments in the Merzouga desert. After a typical breakfast at our camp, we will return to the lodge by dromedary for a shower. We then set out for Fes, passing through the beautiful Ziz Valley, Errachidia, and Midelt until we reach the cedar forest, where we will stop to visit the famous “Gouraud Cedar.” We continue across the Middle Atlas to arrive in Fes in the afternoon. Fes is the intellectual and historical capital of Morocco, divided into three parts: Fes el Bali (the old city), the new part built during the French protectorate, and the Jewish Quarter. Fes features a beautiful medina with impressive gates, ramparts, and palaces. End of the 2-day Marrakech to Fes trip.

Elena G., Madrid Corto pero intenso

Solo teníamos un fin de semana y este tour fue perfecto. Dormir en el desierto es algo que hay que hacer una vez en la vida. El guía fue súper amable y el 4x4 muy cómodo.

Frequently Asked Questions :

2 Day Tour from Marrakech to Fez

This is an intense tour designed to maximize travelers' time. Although we spend several hours in the vehicle, stops at Ait Ben Haddou and the Todra Gorges ensure that you see the country's most iconic sights before your desert experience.

You will pass through very different climatic zones: the heat of the cities, the breeze of the mountains, and the cool desert nights. We recommend dressing in layers and bringing a jacket for the night in the tent, as well as comfortable shoes for cultural stops.

We will drop you off at your hotel or riad in Fez at the end of the afternoon. As you enter the city, you will be able to appreciate the three sectors of the intellectual capital: Fes el-Bali (old town), the Jewish quarter, and the new French quarter.
