Pick up from your accommodation to depart for Essaouira, the city known as Mogador in Portuguese, a port located on the west coast of the Atlantic. It is one of the provincial capitals in the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region. With around 70,000 inhabitants, its medina or old town has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Upon arrival in the city, we will take a walk through the old town, visit the port, and then enjoy a lunch of fresh grilled fish at one of the local restaurants in the port.
If you wish, we can hire a local guide to take you on a tour of the city. The local economy revolves around fishing, wood, textiles, food, trade, and handicrafts, particularly marquetry and jewelry. Essaouira is typical of many small fortified Moroccan towns. In the past, it was considered one of the most important ports in the country in terms of fishing volume.

No, lunch is not included. However, we will take you to the port where you can choose fresh fish of the day and ask for it to be grilled on the spot; it is the most authentic dining experience in the city.
Essaouira is known as "The Windy City." Although it is very hot in Marrakech, the coast tends to be cooler due to the Atlantic breeze. We recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater, even in summer.
The journey takes approximately 3 hours. We will make stops along the way to stretch our legs and, if we are lucky, see the famous goats climbing the argan trees.
