Depart from your traditional Riad in Fes and drive north for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (210km) while enjoying the beautiful views and landscapes of the Rif Mountains. Once you see the blue-washed buildings nestled in a valley, you will know you have arrived in the famous “Blue City.” Enjoy the sights of this beautiful town and relax at your hotel, where you will have dinner.
Enjoy breakfast on the terraces of your hotel while taking in wonderful views of Chefchaouen. After breakfast, it’s time for a city tour to explore the blue-washed streets on foot with your guide, who will provide information about the city and its history. Visit the Kasbah Museum of Chefchaouen in the Medina, which houses ancient weapons and historical photographs of the city, offering an important perspective on the old Medina.
The museum was built by Moulay Ismail in the 18th century and is a wonderful location surrounded by gardens. You can head to the museum roof to take photos from a vantage point that offers a marvelous view of the city. Visit the central square, Plaza Uta el-Hammam, home to the great 15th-century Kasbah and the city’s Grand Mosque.
After breakfast at your hotel in the Blue City, return to the city of Fes through the Rif Mountains.

Originally, the color blue was introduced by Jewish and Moorish refugees who settled in the city, symbolizing the sky and the divine presence. At Viajemos Marruecos, we include a local guide who will explain how this tradition has been maintained and how the structure of its medina reflects the Andalusian influence of the 15th century.
Chefchaouen is considered one of the most photogenic destinations in the world due to the contrast between its blue streets and the green mountains. The itinerary allows enough free time to capture the perfect light and visit the Kasbah Museum, which houses collections of Berber art and historical photographs of the region.
The journey takes around two and a half hours along roads offering spectacular views of the Rif Mountains. As it is a mountainous area, the climate in Chefchaouen can be cooler than in Fez, so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes for walking up and down the slopes of the medina and bringing some light warm clothing.
