2 Day Tour from Marrakech to the Zagora Desert

2 Day Tour from Marrakech to the Zagora Desert
The Zagora Desert tour begins at 8:00 AM. Departure from your hotel/Riad, crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the famous Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260m). Along the way, we will enjoy views of the valleys and Berber villages with stops for photos. We arrive in Ouarzazate, where we will stop to visit the Taourirt Kasbah and have lunch.
From there, we head toward the Draa Valley, traveling along the ancient caravan route between the mountains and the river, passing through many villages and gardens to gain a better insight into the oasis way of life.
We will arrive in Zagora to rest before continuing to the Tinfou dunes, where our camels await. We will trek for 1 hour to witness the sunset over the dunes. Dinner will be served in a tent restaurant where you will be entertained with traditional music and local dances. Overnight stay in nomad tents (jaimas).
We will rise before dawn to witness the impressive sunrise, have breakfast at the camp, and return to Zagora. We then drive back to Marrakech through the Draa Valley and Agdez, passing through Ouarzazate where we will stop for lunch before continuing our journey to Marrakech.

The biggest difference is the distance and the type of dunes. While Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) has giant dunes, Zagora is a rockier desert with small dunes (Tinfou). However, at Viajemos Marruecos we recommend Zagora for 2-day routes because the journey is much shorter, allowing you to enjoy the desert without spending 10 hours straight in the car.
Of course! As this is a private tour, our driver will stop at the most spectacular spots in the High Atlas and Draa Valley so you can capture the beauty of the Berber villages and oases.
The experience is complete: it includes dinner in a tent/restaurant, a show featuring traditional music and local dances, and accommodation in traditional tents under the stars. It is the perfect opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in nomadic culture.
