2 day excursion from Fez to the desert

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

Your 2-Day Desert Excursion from Fes begins in the morning, departing from Fes via Azrou. Later, we will reach the cedar forest—a must-stop spot to see the monkeys in the wild. We will also visit the city of Ifrane, often referred to as the “Moroccan Switzerland.”

We continue our journey toward Merzouga, crossing the Ziz Valley and Erfoud. In the afternoon, we arrive at the dunes to mount our camels and set off on an excursion into the sands to spend the night in the heart of the dunes under a traditional nomad tent (Jaima).

Day 2: Merzouga – Rissani – Azrou – Fes

We will rise early to witness the beautiful sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast. After riding the camels back to the village, we depart for Rissani to visit its market. This unique trading post is where surrounding tribes and desert nomads come to stock up on supplies and local products.

After this fascinating visit, we move on to Erfoud, where we will visit fossil quarries featuring ancient specimens. We then continue our journey back to Fes, traversing the Middle Atlas and its various villages, arriving in Fes in the late afternoon to conclude the tour.
